David Delaney
Arica Experience
David was introduced to and learned Oscar Ichazo’s brilliant Psychocalisthenics in 1979. It changed his entire life, especially as an actor-singer. It taught him how to exercise, awaken, and develop all the intrinsic and extrinsic muscles of his body in a serial, scientific fashion. David adds, “It truly is a master level exercise that can be done anywhere and takes about 15 minutes to exercise all the muscles, open all the joints, and stimulate organs, nerves, glands & tissue.”
David has been an Arica Institute Sponsor teaching Psychocalisthenics to the public since 1990. He has been teaching Advanced Psychocalisthenics and Chua K’a Bodywork since 1993.
Professional Work
David George Delaney is both an actor and a somatic psychotherapist working with actor-singers to help them reach their fullest, authentic, virtuosic potential. He is the author of several published articles on singing, voice and the body/psyche. Unresolved trauma causes a shortening of the emotional muscles deep within the body. This process prevents the singer’s muscles (intrinsic muscles) from functioning with relaxation and elasticity. David is also the author of the book entitled Intrinsic Singing, which reveals the sensory somatic motor skills that must be mastered somatically to be a virtuoso, the master of your voice.
